We aim to reply to every message within 2 business days. When you write in, please include your device model, iOS version, the app version (Settings → About), and — if relevant — the story ID or a short description of what went wrong. The more detail, the faster we can help.

Common questions

How old should my child be?

Oolie is designed for children roughly 3–10. Younger children love listening while an adult follows along; older children who are learning to read enjoy the karaoke word highlighting as they read at their own pace. You can adjust vocabulary difficulty in the child's profile.

Are the stories really new every time?

Yes. Every story is generated fresh based on your child's profile, the theme you pick, and a handful of other inputs. We do not replay the same story twice unless you specifically save and reopen one from your library. That means no two bedtimes are ever the same, and your child's favourites are always waiting for them in their library.

What happens to my child's photo?

If you choose to upload a photo, we use it only to generate cartoon-style illustrations in which your child appears as the story's protagonist. The photo is stored securely on your account in Firebase Storage and handled according to our Privacy Policy. We don't sell it, share it, or use it to train third-party models, and you can delete it at any time from within the app.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Premium includes a 3-day free trial with premium AI narration, up to 30 stories per month, and all features unlocked. Cancel during the trial and you won't be billed. Basic is also available at a lower monthly price without a trial.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — Oolie runs on iPhone and iPad, iOS 16 and later. The layout adapts to larger screens so your child can follow the illustrations and karaoke text comfortably.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. You can cancel at any time, and you'll keep premium features until the end of your billing period. See "Manage your subscription" below for step-by-step instructions.

Manage your subscription

All Oolie subscriptions are billed through Apple, so you manage them from your Apple ID settings — not from inside Oolie. On your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Choose Oolie.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription, or switch plans if you'd like to change tiers.

Important: deleting the Oolie app from your device does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through Apple ID settings as above, or the subscription will keep renewing.

For refund requests, contact Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles all App Store refunds — we are not able to issue refunds on Apple's behalf.

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Oolie account at any time from inside the app:

  1. Open Oolie.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Account deletion permanently removes all child profiles, uploaded photos, voice recordings, generated stories, and associated data from our systems. This action is not reversible. If you have an active subscription, cancel it separately through your Apple ID settings (see above) — deleting your account does not cancel Apple billing.

Report a problem with a story

AI-generated content can occasionally produce something unexpected or unsuitable. If a story, illustration, or narration ever feels wrong for your child, you can let us know in two ways:

  • In the story reader: tap the flag icon at the top of the reader and select a reason. The story ID and context are attached automatically so we can investigate.
  • By email: write to furlanpaolo90@gmail.com with the story ID (visible at the bottom of the reader) and a short description of what went wrong.

We review every report and use them to improve our safety systems. Thank you — this feedback genuinely helps us keep the app safe for other families.

For anything related to your data — access, correction, deletion, or general privacy concerns — please see our Privacy Policy or email furlanpaolo90@gmail.com. We respond within the time required by law and, in any case, without undue delay.

Accessibility

Oolie is designed to be usable by as many families as possible:

  • Dynamic Type — text scales with your iOS font size settings.
  • VoiceOver — all controls and story content are labeled and reachable.
  • Reduce Motion — subtle animations, floating visuals, and transitions are minimized when you've turned on Reduce Motion in iOS Settings.
  • High contrast — the app's dark interface maintains WCAG AA contrast for body text.
